Sabrosa Dessert Company & Catering was born from a passion for pastry. Long before it became the brand it is today, Sabrosa was merely an idea—found in the kitchen with family, in recipes passed down alongside laughter and stories, and in the understanding that dessert is not simply something sweet, but something deeply meaningful.

The foundation of Sabrosa lies in the founder Sophia Rivera’s earliest memories, cooking alongside her grandmother. Those moments—learning through observation, patience, and love—shaped her appreciation for the power of food to bring comfort, joy, and connection.

As the business began to take shape, Sabrosa was built in the margins of everyday life. After graduating high school at 17, Sophia enrolled in college and worked several part-time jobs, yet her nights were devoted to testing recipes, practicing cake decorating, and quietly laying the groundwork for something larger. What started as a hobby grew through dedication, discipline, and a clear vision of what Sabrosa could become.

Choosing to pursue Sabrosa full-time marked a defining moment. It was a commitment to craft, to purpose, and to the belief that desserts can tell stories.
